Cássia Dolores Costa Lopes is a professor and researcher in Linguistics and Literature and Performing Arts. Since 1996, she has been a professor and researcher at the Institute of Linguistics and Literatures of the Federal University of Bahia, where she is an associate professor III. She is a permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Performing Arts (PPGAC) and the Graduate Program in Literature and Culture of the UFBA Institute of Linguistics and Literature. As a faculty member of the Literary Theory section, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, focusing on Dramatic Literature, mainly on playwriting, postcolonial studies, performing arts, philosophy and the arts, literary creation and literature/music. Author of the following books: Um olhar na neblina: um encontro com Jorge Luis Borges (1999), Rumor das Horas (2009) and Gilberto Gil: a poética e a política do corpo, Perspectiva/Coleção Estudos (2012). Tempo de Dramaturgias (Editor), EDUFBA (2014); Poesia e memória: a poética de Myriam Fraga, EDUFBA (2011). With many articles published in journals, she studies body and dramaturgy. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at PUC-SP, under supervision of Professor Peter Pál Pelbart, with focus on subjectivity and body politics. She is a member of the editorial board of Repertório journal, Cadernos GIPE/CIT and the editorial board of EDUFBA. In addition, she is a member of the research group Dramatis and leader of the research group A poética e a política do corpo (The Poetics and the Politics of the Body).
