Gláucio Machado Santos is an actor, director and theatrical producer. He holds a BA of Performing Arts with theatrical interpretation from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO, MBA in Marketing from the Graduate Program at the School of Economics of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EPGE-FGV) in addition to an MA in Theater from UNIRIO and a PhD in Performing Arts from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), with a doctoral exchange program at the University of Paris X, Nanterre. He has been a professor at the Department of Performing Techniques at the UFBA School of Theater since 2002, and a permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Performing Arts (PPGAC-UFBA), since 2008. He was the Vice-Director of the UFBA School of Theater (2016-2019) as well as the Head of the Department of Performing Techniques (2003-2004 and 2006-2007), Vice Coordinator of PPGAC-UFBA (2013-2014), and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course at the UFBA School of Theater (2009-2010 and 2013-2014). He is the second leader of the research group Encenação Contemporânea –G-PEC (Contemporary Performance), registered with CNPq. His research project is O escopo da encenação teatral: necessárias aglutinações para um conceito em progresso (The scope of theatrical staging: necessary agglutinations for a concept in progress). His works are focused on: history and teaching of theatrical direction; theater administration and production; educational processes in theater.
