He holds a PhD and an MA from the Graduate Program in Performing Arts at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and a degree in Social Communication from the Catholic University of Salvador (UCSAL). His focus in the Performing Arts area is on Dramaturgy, Acting, and Lighting. He won the Braskem Theater Award three times: in 2013, in the categories best writer and best play, and in 2014, in the category best play for the youth. From 1999 to 2016, his plays received 12 nominations for the Braskem Award. In 2017, his play EGOTRIP was also nominated for 7 categories for the Cenym Award of National Theater (Awards of the Brazilian Academy of Theater Arts). He was a programming director of UFBA TV from 2004 to 2008. He was also responsible for scripts and directions of documentaries, programs, and other audiovisual products for the channel. He worked as a columnist for the Weekly Guide to Ideas – column of the Caderno Dez! section from the A Tarde newspaper, where he published 37 chronicles between 2001 and 2002. He also collaborated with the culture section of the same newspaper, by writing short stories, articles, and an article on urban violence. He is a professor at the UFBA School of Theater (Department of Performing Techniques).
