He is a professor at the Institute of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences of the Federal University of Bahia. He holds a degree in Performing Arts from UFBA with complementary training at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Jacobs University Bremen – Germany. Since 2006, he has been the leader of the interdisciplinary research group ECUS – UFBA/CNPq. From 2008 to 2010, he coordinated the Multidisciplinary Graduate Program in Culture and Society of the Federal University of Bahia. He coordinated the International Studies Agreement with the Department of Arts and Performing Sciences of the University of Rome La Sapienza in cooperation with institutions from other countries. Between 2005 and 2011, he coordinated the International Academic Cooperation Agreement with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Jacobs University Bremen in Germany. Between 2007 and 2010, he worked in intercultural cooperation with the Communication University China (CUC) in Beijing. He is also a musician and songwriter, who has written several musical compositions published in Germany, Italy, and Brazil. His research interest is in Arts and Humanities, focusing on philosophy, dramaturgy, and musical composition, mainly on the following topics: sound studies, contemporary aesthetics, digital Bildung, arts and incompleteness aesthetics, and audio-cultures.
