Hebe Alves da Silva is an actress, theater director, assistant professor at the UFBA School of Theater and a permanent faculty of the UFBA Graduate Program in Performing Arts. She holds an MA (2001) and PhD in Performing Arts from the Federal University of Bahia (2008), with a doctoral exchange program at the University of Nanterre – France, in addition to a Bachelor of Theater Directing. Among her institutional work are: Head of the Department of Theater Fundamentals at the School of Theater (1996-1998; 1998-2000; 2011-2013 and 2015-2016); Dean Pro Tempore at the Arts Training Center of the Federal University of Southern Bahia (2013-2014); Director of the Cultural Dissemination System at UFSB (2014-2015); acting director of the Theater Department of the Cultural Foundation of Bahia State – FUNCEB (1998). She is also a Member of the Brazilian Association of Research in Performing Arts (ABRACE) and has received several awards including: Braskem Theater Award for Lifetime Achievement (2008); Best Theater Show for Uma vez, nada mais (2009) and the Special Prize for Innovation and creativity at the VIII International Student and Youth Theatre Festival in Minsk, Belarus, for Dorotéia (2011). Experienced in Arts, she focuses on Theatrical Interpretation and Directing mainly with theatrical performance, actor training, teaching, research, extension and didactic stage production and dramaturgical work by Nelson Rodrigues.
